The idea for Monterey gin became about within the snow-capped mountains of the Alps. The three good friends and co-founders of the spirit were discussing gin and its ubiquity in cocktails; but also how different recipes influence different cocktails.
Unable to resolve their differences, a Cornish gin with a classic influence was born. Production levels are kept low alongside the traditional single-shot method of distillation. Monterey note that this allows them to ensure quality and helps them create and maintain the character of their gin.
Monterey Gin are based alongside the Helford river, in Cornwall, beneath the Monterey pines.
