Made from molasses
Unlike many rum producers, who will simply import one or more rums to be blended and flavoured at their base, Fal River Distillery ferment, distill, age and bottle their rum at the distillery in Penryn, Cornwall.
Petrel is dedicated to the wild Cornish coast, and was named after the native Cornish sea-bird of the same name and their incredible resilience, even in the worst of storms.
The rum is produced in a flame-heated 500 litre copper pot still with select botanicals, before ageing in an ex-bourbon barrel for at least one month. During this time, the spirit is macerated with maple and rosemary before being bottled by hand at the distillery.
