trevethan lost garden rum
Made from molasses
Pedro Ximenez sherry
Producer Tasting Profile:
This limited edition bottling of rum was made by the Trevethan distillery in partnership with the Lost Gardens of Heligan, using the rare Heligan pineapples, the second ever of which was gifted to the Queen.
The barrel aged rum is distilled from molasses. After this, it is macerated in oak that has been soaked in black bee honey from the Heligan gardens, and Pedro Ximinez sherry. Finally, juice from the rare Heligan Gardens pineapples is added to the mix. All of this work provides well balanced sweetness, subtle floral and tropical notes.
As more and more gin distilleries try their hand at producing rum, this limited edition bottling was certainly a good start for Trevethan.
